Grand Istana Rama Hotel held FREE cooking classes. Great experience with authentic food market shopping and hands on learning in the kitchen! Also good English speaking guide. Going to the traditional markets and selecting all of the ingredients for the recipe we cooked (Gado Gado) was so much fun ! The chef, Hendra was amazing and realy friendly, he took the time to explain the dish and the techniques. I found the room to be clean and comfortable. I really like the gardens and the pool. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Thank you so much. 23Dec2011 Ashleigh Vandersteen Staying at Grand Istana Rama Hotel for the first time and participating in the cooking class was definately a great experience for me. I really enjoyed going to the market and learning a few Balinese words to purchace specific ingredients for the dish (Guda Guda) which was delicious. The chef, Hendra, was very informative and went into detail about preparing the dish. I really enjoyed the 3 hours and look forward to staying at the hotel again and participating in the cooking class. Thank you.
